About Us
Swiss-Inter-Consult active partner is Alexander Denzler, a Swiss national with seven years experience in Saudi Arabia.
Alexander Denzler concluded his academic education with a BS in Chemical Engineering from the Technical Engineering College in Burgdorf - Switzerland.
Since leaving school, Alexander was interested in getting to know and understand cultures.
With the age of 20, he spent six months in South Africa. He started his first job after his BS in 1975 in plastic production at Ciba-Geigy in the French speaking part of Switzerland. Privately he traveled to Nepal where he was exposed to very poor living conditions of the local population. Recognizing the importance of training and education for underdeveloped countries, he and his wife initiated and managed a foster child project in which they raised funds and sponsored poor children’s education by sending them to school and supporting their families financially. This project lasted almost for 25 years and many Nepali children could improve their chances of having a decent live.
In 1980, Alexander moved to Brazil where he worked for
Ciba-Geigy in Sao Paulo in production and project related jobs. Among other responsibilities, he was in charge of training of all operations employees (the picture shows Alex at a leadership training seminar in Sao Paulo). It was during his assignment in Brazil that Alexander learnt about the power of motivation (by Abraham Maslow), the strength of active listening (by T.Gordon), and different approaches for managing companies and people (E.Fromm).

After more than seven years in Brazil, Alexander was asked by his company to go to the USA and to become Commissioning and Start up Manager of the major project the Polymers Division in Ciba-Geigy ever executed (the picture shows the international commissioning team after successful completion of the project with engineers from Brazil, Mexico, USA, Switzerland, England and Spain in 1991). The Ciba plant was in McIntosh, near Mobile Alabama.
During his four year assignment Alexander was also responsible for training. This training included teaching US shift supervisors in Switzerland, training the international commissioning team in the US and train all the operators which were freshly hired to start up and to run the new plant.
Returning to Switzerland, Alex worked in Ciba-Geigy as responsible for global operation, an assignment during which he came to see and experience Middle East and Asian cultures, particularly Saudi Arabia, Japan, China and India (the picture shows Alexander in Saudi Arabia with NAMA Board members during signing of a license agreement in 1995). During this time, he participated in Active listening seminars which were teaching skills which were useful in training at the company as well as for the education of his own children.

Thanks to his general managing skills and his understanding of cultural values, Alexander was sent to head Ciba-Geigy’s Polymers Division in India and an Asian Business Unit of the Division (the picture shows a gathering with the Asian leadership team).
During his time in India he was instrumental in forming a joint venture with an Indian Company (TPL) and building up a factory on a green field, hiring and training of employees again was an important tasks.

Ciba-Geigy changed to Ciba and soon after, the Polymer Division was sold. That was the time Alexander decided to leave with 25 years of experience in this company.
After two years of Managing a small paint company near his home, he was called by NAMA for an assignment in Saudi Arabia.

The new cultural environment and the possibility to support the company which he had been helping to get a license in executing its growth strategy was a challenge Alexander accepted.
Seven years Alexander was active with NAMA and has supported the
company in its growth. During this time he was learning about the
local culture and tradition and he met people in the desert and had
also the opportunity to participate in a project inauguration
meeting with the King.

Together with the President of NAMA, Alexander was instrumental to develop the human potential of the multicultural work forced by implementing the AMAN program to make NAMA a learning organization.
Alexander is a certified Gordon Training International Master Trainer.
